Six Months In: Reflections on a Rewarding Journey

As Collaborative Connections Counselling reaches its six-month milestone, I’m filled with gratitude for what has been a truly rewarding beginning. Building a private practice has been both a professional and personal journey, and I’ve had the privilege of working with clients from all walks of life—young people, adults, and older clients—each with their own unique story and path to healing.

One of the most impactful tools I’ve used with clients during this time is Eye Movement Integration Therapy (EMIT). This powerful, evidence-based approach has helped many clients begin to heal from trauma, anxiety, and long-held emotional challenges—often bringing a sense of clarity and calm that had once felt unreachable.

The support I’ve received from the community and from local partner organisations has also been deeply appreciated. Knowing that our shared goal is to support the mental health and wellbeing of others makes this work feel even more meaningful.

Looking ahead, I’m excited to continue expanding my skills to better support the people I work with. I’ll soon be travelling overseas for specialist training in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART)—another innovative eye movement therapy that offers rapid relief for trauma, anxiety, and more.

To every client, colleague, and supporter who’s walked alongside me so far—thank you. I look forward to what the next chapter holds, and to continuing to provide inclusive, integrative support to the Bendigo community and beyond.
